Interviews

I’ve interviewed four international footballers and a whole host of other interesting people. It’s always been a privilege. Here are some of my favourites.

I reminisced with legendary commentator Clive Tyldesley about Man United’s 7-1 win against AS Roma in 2007.

  • 2019

I spoke to Michael Carrick, Mike Phelan, Jimmy Murphy Jnr and others for a special episode of the United We Stand podcast,

I was also on the other end of an interview in 2019, speaking to Jon Mackenzie for The Football Media Podcast. You can listen here.

  • 2018

I investigated the decline of the Old Trafford atmosphere for the Manchester United Weekly Podcast, speaking to a number of individuals involved with the club.

  • 2017

I chatted with Filipe Esteves, the head of FootballISM, a company helping Sporting Clube to organise their academy. Here.

  • 2016

I spoke to Oliver Kay about his award-winning football book ‘Forever Young: The Story of Adrian Docherty, Football’s Lost Genius’.

It was one of the first times Oli had spoken about the book, here.

  • 2015

As I turned 15, I interviewed two England international footballers in 2015. The first was England Lionesses footballer Alex Scott about her time with her country at the 2015 FIFA World Cup and her aspirations for a future life in punditry.

You can read this interview here.

The second was Premier League journeyman goalkeeper Tom Heaton who had just received his first England call-up. That was VAVEL UK, and you can read it here.

Another interesting discussion was with Henry Newman, then the youngest academy manager in the country at Barnet FC. He’s now at Brentford. Read it here.
